Arthur Rubinfeld is Starbucks Coffee Company’s president, Global Development. Arthur and his team are responsible for global growth, strategic site selection, design and creative concepting for over 16,000 Starbucks stores in 50 countries. Arthur is well-known for his visionary work in the areas of retail design and architecture, and bringing the Starbucks Experience to life. 

 

Arthur rejoined Starbucks in February 2008 in his current role. Previously he spent nearly ten years during a crucial growth period in the company’s history as Starbucks grew from 100 stores to more than 4,500 stores worldwide. As senior vice president of real estate and store development from 1992-2001, he played a major role in creating the customer experience to define the Starbucks brand.

 

His background also includes AIRVISION, an advisory firm he founded in 2001 that specializes in brand positioning, growth strategies and operational planning for clients, including adidas, Omaha Steaks and Oakley. 

 

Arthur is a registered architect and accredited by the National Council of Architectural Review Boards. He holds a master’s degree in architecture and a bachelor’s degree in environmental design from the University of Colorado. He is author of “Built for Growth: Expanding Your Business Around the Corner or Across the Globe.” He is married with two children, and lives in Seattle.
