Bret Mosher
President
MKT Community Deveopment Corporation
Los Angeles, CA
California native Bret P. Mosher has emerged as one of Los Angeles’ visionary real estate developers. Thus far his career has resulted in high-quality, affordable housing for thousands of Southern Californians.
Mosher graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Business Administration in 1985. Subsequently he became an investment real estate broker focusing on multi-family housing while investing in those same types of projects.
In 1996, he founded his current company, MKT Community Development, and serves as President and sole stock owner. MKT is a for-profit organization with altruistic intentions, specializing in the financing, construction and management of strategically located housing units. To date, MKT is responsible for completing more than 130 projects——at a total investment exceeding $200 million. MKT’s “The Flat” is a former Holiday Inn turned modern apartment building plus restaurant/lounge. Mosher has also transformed the rooftop above into an “edible estate” with its rooftop garden.
Mosher, in addition to improving downtown with environmentally conscious housing at The Flat and Blue Velvet Restaurant, doubles as the president of Environ Biocomposites. Environ produces particleboard from rapidly renewable wheat straw with no-added formaldehyde; a true improvement to the future of our indoor air quality.
