An established art director, digital set designer and trained architect, Tino Schaedler worked for three years at Daniel Libeskind and Barkow Leibinger architects before migrating to the film industry. Here he has worked as an art director for digital sets on productions such as Tim Burton‘s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘Catwoman’, ‘V for Vendetta’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ and the upcoming Disney production `The Prince of Persia’. He was recently awarded for excellence in production design from the Art Directors Guild of Los Angeles for his work on “The Golden Compass”. Tino is a regular guest speaker on his work at universities and conventions worldwide, whilst also regularly contributing to ‘Mark’ Magazine. He is currently working on a book title and curating a travelling exhibition on progressive film design that features work from leading production designers and directors. Tino Schaedler has an academic background in architecture and visual effects. Graduating with honours from the University of Hannover in architecture, he studied at the Berlage Institute in Amsterdam, UC Berkeley in the US and the Filmschool in Vancouver. He has taught at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin, the architecture department of UBC in Vancouver and most recently taught alongside Markus Miessen at the Architectural Association in London.
