Linda is the executive director of the Los Angeles Conservancy, a nonprofit membership organization that works to recognize, preserve, and revitalize the historic architectural and cultural resources of Los Angeles County. Before joining the staff in 1992, Linda served as an architectural historian with the National Park Service, worked as a senior planner for the City of Pasadena, and worked with California’s State Office of Historic Preservation. She previously served as chair of the Statewide and Local Partners of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, on the Board of Advisors for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and on the boards of the California Preservation Foundation and the Southern California Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians.
During Linda’s tenure, the Los Angeles Conservancy has tripled its budget and doubled its membership to become the largest local preservation organization in the country. Formed in 1978, the Los Angeles Conservancy follows a twofold strategy of education and advocacy to raise awareness of Los Angeles’ historic resources and make preservation an integral part of public policy, urban planning, and the public consciousness. The strength of the Conservancy comes from its 7,000 member households, who share the goal of protecting the rich yet vulnerable architectural heritage of Los Angeles.
